Management

Dr. Michael A. Murphy is President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company. He is also Vice President with Amercan Healthcare Capital. He previously held healthcare consultant positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers Healthcare Advisory and Milliman Inc., consulting with healthcare payers and providers. He was a biomedical researcher at the Middlesex and University College Medical School, Oxford University and University of California, San Diego, in which capacities he conducted primary research in mitochondrial degenerative, muscular, neurological and psychiatric diseases. He practiced medicine including endocrinolgy, surgery, oncology, emergency room, psychiatry and family practice. Dr. Murphy completed his medical education at Trinity College Dublin and obtained an M.Sc. in Neurochemistry from The Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London.

Dr. Mitchell Malachowski is Professor of Chemistry at the University of San Diego; He was Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences at USD from 1989 to 1994. After teaching at Gettysburg College for one year, he joined the faculty at USD in 1984. During 1992 he was a visiting professor at Leiden University, the Netherlands. He has received several awards for teaching excellence from the University of North Carolina, the administrator of the year award at U.S.D., a University Professorship from U.S.D. (1996-1997) and the Charles B. Willard award for distinguished career achievement from Rhode Island College. He maintains an active research program involving the bioinorganic chemistry of copper and manganese proteins and has received funding from the Petroleum Research Fund, the Research Corporation and Project SEED grants. He received a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Rhode Island College in 1977 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.

Dr. Muthu Prabhakaran is Vice President of Bioinformatics with the Company. He was Principal Scientist at Structural Bioinformatics. Inc. in San Diego wheren he was primarily responsible for the protein data base and annotation. Previously he was a faculty member at University of Illinois at Chicago and modeled new compounds for treatment of sickle cell anemia. He served as contracting scientist for the biopolymer facility at Aberdeen Proving Ground, U.S. Army Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in molecular Biophysics from University of Madras. He held a postdoctoral position with Prof. Stephen C. Harvey. They were pioneers in Molecular Dynamics simulations.

Dr. Jay S. Schneider is Professor of Pathology, Anatomy, Cell Biology, Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He formerly held positions as Postdoctoral Fellow at University of California at Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute; Assistant Professor of Neurology at University of California at Los Angeles; Associate Professor of Neurology, Hahnemann University; Professor of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received a Ph.D. in Physiological Psychology from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
